About the Role

As a Patient Account Services Officer at Jones Radiology, you will be an essential part of our Accounts Team, supporting patients, referrers, clinics and third-party payers. This role is about much more than managing accounts. It is about making a real difference for people by providing clear, professional and compassionate guidance on billing, Medicare inquiries and account management.

This is a role for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems and working as part of a supportive and collaborative team. You do not need prior experience in medical accounts or Medicare billing, as full training will be provided. What matters most is your professional approach, willingness to learn and commitment to providing patient-focused service.

A typical day might include:

• Speaking with patients and referrers over the phone to answer questions, explain billing details and provide support with outstanding accounts

• Assisting clinics with Medicare billing inquiries, helping to ensure processes run smoothly and accurately

• Monitoring accounts, managing aged debts professionally and ensuring payments are receipted or followed up efficiently

• Collaborating closely with internal teams, supporting colleagues and providing backup during peak periods

• Maintaining accurate records, managing incoming correspondence and keeping the working environment organised and professional

Key Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain billing and account information clearly to patients, referrers and third-party payers

• Patient-focused and professional approach in all interactions

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling accounts and records

• Proficiency with computer systems, including email, databases and basic office software

• Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate effectively and provide support to colleagues

• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with company policies and procedures

• Previous experience in accounts, customer service or a healthcare environment is advantageous but not required

• Valid Working with Children Check and Police Clearance or willingness to obtain
