About the Role The Payroll Officer plays an important role in keeping the business running smoothly by making sure every employee is paid accurately and on time. Payroll is one of the most important functions in any organisation, and this role is at the centre of delivering that with care, accuracy and integrity. More than just processing pay, the Payroll Officer is a trusted point of support for employees and managers, helping with payroll enquiries, leave, entitlements and payroll-related advice. Working closely with People Services, Finance and other teams, this role helps maintain compliance, improve systems and processes, and ensure a positive employee experience. Through accuracy, reliability and strong attention to detail, the Payroll Officer makes a meaningful contribution to the organisation and its people every pay cycle. What You Will Bring This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and has a customer service mindset with: - Demonstrated experience in payroll processing, including end-to-end payroll administration.
- Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including the Fair Work Act, PAYG, superannuation and Single Touch Payroll (STP).
- Proficiency in payroll systems such as Chris21, MicroPay, Preceda, SAP, KeyPay or similar.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manage and analyse payroll data accurately.
- Strong numerical aptitude with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret employment contracts, awards and payroll-related policies to ensure compliance and accurate payroll outcomes.
